About My Two Cents
At first we were oblivious. We brushed through newspapers without reading its name. Radio sang its song, but we didn't dance to its tune. Expensive television time was spent on airing it, but we turned away. Everyday, we must have come across it, but with blurred senses, we glided past it. Neglected in a corner, it festered, unable to grow.
When people around us finally began putting their eyes on it, we, too, took some notice. When emotions surged, we bubbled over. With shocked minds, we gaped, pointed fingers and complained. Then we began wondering what we could possibly do. We wondered how to befriend this alien, how to nurture this orphan.
Slowly, like babbling babies, we've learned to say its name. We're still underinformed but eager to learn.
