Mentoring program

V.E.N.T! Magazine recently launched a writing mentoring program to help those who would like to get published and want the guidance of a mentor who will help them throughout the writing process. Many mentees have already benefited from this program. We are currently looking for writing mentors who have the know-how or who are professionals in their field, and willing to volunteer their time to help an aspiring writer. Contact us at mentors AT ventzine DOT com.

So you think that only journalism or English majors can be reporters/writers? Well, think again. Writing and reporting is all about pratice, practice and practice. Some critics may argue that you're either born with it or you'ren not. Here at V.E.N.T!, we believe that it's all about passion and practice. If you lack the skills, read, learn and practice some more. If you don't have the confidence, get a mentor (through our mentoring program) and never underestimate the power of again, practice. Write for different publications until you find your niche. Even if you're not paid for it, if your work gets published, you will receive feedback, which is another essential ingredient to becoming a full-fledged reporter/writer. Remember, the most successful journalists/writers, never stop learning. That also means making mistakes and learning from them. To get you started, we have compiled a list of our favorite sites for citizen reporters, and aspiring writers/journalists on the net. Have a look:
