The Last Stanza

Resurrection of Dreams

glazed pair of eyes
fixated on a valley of hills
the curves
the highs
the lows
green and yellow
shade and sun

weakened pair of legs
standing on cold concrete floor
cold concrete room
cold concrete walls
sad, lone (in)sanity

voices overheard
in fragments
sneers felt

in snippets

firm grip on the wrist
a jerk
a pull
then run
creep and crawl
through cracks and holes

glazed eyes animate
weak legs find strength

escaping voices and sneers
following the lead; a girl
navigating through the maze
holding tight between her fingers
a thin wrist; a boy
attaining his flit
from jeer and judgment
cold floor and
confinement

this is the resurrection of his dreams.
