Shrestha

When he was 5 years old, Shashank Shrestha first used his grandmother's Yashica film camera which was older than he is. 17 years later, he is still using a camera that is older than he is. He is currently studying Telecommunications at Lee University. Shashank has been working as the Managing photo editor for the Lee University Student Media and Office of Publications - which basically means he takes pictures... a lot. A biased believer of the power of media, Shashank is enamored with visual media - photography and films. When not over-working, Shashank likes to listen to music, read newspapers and discuss the philosophical elements in Batman's character design. • My fascination with the camera began when I was in high school. Photography to me then, was more of a compulsive hobby rather than an actual interest. When I began using a camera, it was a way to amuse my friends with the so-called paparazzi shots. The primary output of my work was funny, random pictures and usually photos that could be stashed away in a randomly named folder in the hard drive and forgotten. Frankly, the highest value of a photo to me and most of my peers was a 'pretty' wallpaper on the computer’s desktop.
