Yukta
Bajracharya

Yukta cannot imagine her life without poetry. She likes to think she is mentally thirty though, most of the times, she loves to act like a three-years-old. She is a total foodie and can eat like an elephant (and is thankful she doesn’t look like one). She is obsessed with donuts and cupcakes from Café Hessed and always has the hots for drummers. She hopes to one day live like a gypsy and wants you to know that though most of her poems and Facebook statuses make her seem chronically depressed, she is not, actually. Read more of her poems at yomariandyou.blogspot.com.

  • Stuck on the desk,
    the bottle stares at me.
    Left behind,
by someone it was happy to belong to.
    It is half empty,
    half filled.
    Cold inside out.
    It is emptying gradually
    as small drops,
    one
    by one,
    escape it.
There is a leak in there, somewhere, but I cannot find
    and cannot heal.

Today, it's me and the bottle
    looking at one another
    through the invisible
    mirror.
